.44 Special

.44 Special was a standard chambering for the Frontier model. They are not extraordinarily scarce, but are less plentiful than .38s, .357s, and .45s. .

This chambering has an enduring following due to its association with Elmer Keith. Great Westerns in this caliber seem to attract broader interest in the used market.

Rollmark: .44 SPECIAL

Models / barrels: All models were made in .44 Spl. except the Sheriff. No Sheriff’s have been observed in .44. It’s unlikely but not out of the question that a Sheriff in .44 will be encountered.
