The standard serial range suggests total revolver production exceeded 22,000.  Including some of the oddball serial ranges, perhaps it got close to 23,000.

  • .22 caliber        32%
  • .45 Colt             21%
  • .38 Special        12%
  • .357 Atomic        9%
  • .44 Special           5%
  • .44 Magnum        5%
  • .357 Magnum      4%
  • .22 Hornet            1% or less
  • .22 Magnum         1% or less
  • .44-40                     1% or less
  • .45 ACP                   1% or less
